The government has signalled its intention to replace both the Basic Payment (BPS) and Countryside Stewardship (CS) schemes with an Environmental Land Management Scheme (ELMS). Scheduled for launch in late 2024/early 2025, ELMS is being developed under the principle of paying farmers and land managers “public money for public goods.” This is to deliver goods such as clean water and air, biodiversity and habitat management, landscapes, adaptation to climate change and flood mitigation.
Sadly Ash Dieback is becoming quite common in parts of our village. It can affect ash trees of all ages. Younger trees succumb to the disease more quickly.
Please see this leaflet created by Limpley Stoke Parish Council to help you identify and report Ash Dieback in your area. Ash Dieback leaflet
